Dr. Fahad Altamimi

On May 1st, 2016, Dr. Fahad Altamimi was appointed as the Saudi Health Attaché to the USA and Canada. Prior to that, he assumed the position as Director of KAUST Health at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology since May 1st, 2012. Dr. Altamimi is a fellow of the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP) since 2001. He is a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) since 2008 and holds a Master Degree in Healthcare Management from The Royal College of Surgeon of Ireland (RCSI) in 2006. He had his Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), from King Saud University, KSA in 1996.
Dr. Altamimi worked as a Family Physician and a healthcare leader at different locations at Saudi Aramco Medical Service Organization from 1997 to 2012. He served as Hospitals Quality Improvement team leader at different contracted hospitals in Central Region from 2004-2005 then assumed the position of Unit Head of Central Region 2005-2010. He then was appointed as the Head of MDFD Division Central and Western Regions 2010-2012.
He has extensive expertise in various health care aspects including Family Medicine Services, Health Promotion, Healthcare Management, Medical Contract Negotiation & Administration, Project Management, Quality Management and Health Insurance.
Dr. Altamimi currently manages the care for thousands of referred medical cases from Saudi Arabia to the top-notch hospitals in North America most of them with advanced cancers, organ failure, other complex medical diseases. He supports hospitals which are the best in quality, accessibility, satisfaction, cost, and has collaborated in training and research.
